Is it love?

I have known this guy for 6 years of my life. I went to high school with him in year 9 we briefly dated and by briefly I mean 6 days or something it was pathetic. But we have always been "involved" in some way. No relationship, not even seeing each other but "involved" I have always compared other guys to him in every way and for a long time would not get into a relationship because I thought he would eventually come around... Even now (I have pulled away from seeing him and calling him) I can't ever get him out of my mind and this is six years after. Am I in love or am I infatuated?
