What are some interesting back-stories on songs?

I don't want to re-hash something that's been told a million times but there's always the Sweet Home Alabama story. I once heard Gary Rossington say in an interview that they wrote the song as almost a joke and they really didn't even like Alabama. He said when they toured they always hated driving through Alabama because it was most boring place they had ever been to and I'd have to agree.
