Muslims: Is it true that the Koran's account of Mohammed's journey to el Akasa does NOT mention Jerusalem?

Islam traditionally holds the cite of Mohammed's midnight ascent to heaven as the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Is Jerusalem specifically mentioned in the Koran, or was the Temple Mount designated after-the-fact? If so, why choose Jerusalem? Sources are appreciated :-)
