Does this sound like a good plot to you?

In the 1920's women starting working and went into the military as nurses. Yet only 20 percent did. So maybe she still believed women should be stay at home moms. And living on her own would force her to become a working woman. So she goes on a road trip and tries to find something more. And instead of her father being an alcoholic maybe he could be in the war, and she's waiting for him to come back. And maybe she wants a guy that will take care of her, but the guy she meets doesn't seem fit for the job. But she takes him along with her as she's running out of money. Just throwing some ideas out there since i've heard some stories like this.
